Classes at Dharma YogaDROP IN CLASSES
Gentle / yoga - A therapeutic gentle Hatha yoga class incorporating slow repetitive yoga movements, Yogic breathing exercises and relaxation to enhance healing and improve general well-being. Open Our mainstream Hatha Yoga class. The guided Open class consists of specific flowing choreographed yoga movements, yoga breathing techniques, yoga philosophy, relaxation / meditation . Students at all levels are catered for. Pre-natal Specifically designed for expecting mums for a safe and healthy delivery. Mum & Baby class Recommend age 4 weeks to pre-crawling. A fun and interactive class. This gentle yoga class is a wonderful way of looking after yourself and to bond with your baby in an enjoyable activity. Introducing mother back to gentle exercise * Strengthening back, abdomen and pelvic floor * Relieving tension in neck, shoulders, chest and back * Improving posture * Restoring energy. You have the option of involving your baby in the movements or by having your baby close to you. For Bubs classes include: * Gentle baby yoga and massage, * Rhythmic movement accompanied by action songs/rhymes * Simple balances for overall strengthening and development. This class also gives you an opportunity to connect and network with other mums and babies. Drop in Meditation An informal drop in weekly guided meditation class which also incorporates relaxation and yoga philosophy. Thursday evening and Friday morning. |
CoursesBeginners Yoga
The interactive eight hour course is designed to give the participant a strong foundation in yoga. In the beginner's course you will Learn the theory of why yoga is practiced, the purpose of correct breathing and how to use different yogic breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, Basic anatomy, specific Hatha yoga postures their purpose and how to integrate yoga positively into daily life. Workshops Regular workshop designed around a specific set of sequential movements to develop strength and improve balance. |

New class times Wednesday 5:30 pm Open is now moved to 6:30 pm | Thursday 6:30 pm Gentle | Friday 10:30 am Mum & baby class | Friday 10:30am drop in meditation | Sunday 9:30 am strength and balance Course Mum & Baby class For all new mum's, we are pleased to announce that Ellen who teaches prenatal on Monday evenings, will commence a new Mum & Baby class this term. Recommend age 4 weeks to pre-crawling. Ellen quotes that the class is designed as fun and interactive. This gentle mum and baby yoga class is a wonderful way of looking after yourself and to bond with your baby in an enjoyable activity. Friday 10:30 am Meditation If you have not yet attended our weekly drop in meditation classes, then I highly recommend to give it a go this term, remember meditation has many wonderful benefits such as mental relaxation, stress release,and controlled focus. Meditation allows the mind deeper access to our subconscious thereby giving us greater control over physical emotional and mental states. Thursday 7:30pm & Friday 10:30am cost by donation. Courses Strength and Balance The Sunday Strength and balance Utakanga workshop was well received last term. This term Denis will extend the workshop to an eight weeks course. The course will focus on a specific set of sequential movements incorporating the correct use of breathing techniques assist the body to develop strength, whilst allowing the bodies tensions to be released If you are keen to learn more about a unique powerful Hatha yoga sequence then I highly recommend to book a place in the course. Starting 9:30am Sunday 29 July. Denis' Wednesday 5:30 pm Open class has now moved to 6:30pm. Beginner's Dharma Hatha yoga beginner's courses will commence on Thursday 26 July and Monday 29 August at 7:30pm. Saturday evening get together Join us at Dharma for an evening of beautiful chants and music by renowned musician Jarek Czechowicz. Jarek angelic music and chants will be further enhanced by the free flowing movements of creative dancing led by Sarah Miller of Embodiments Dance. A wonderful social evening for all students family and friends. Saturday 21 July 7 – 9:30 pm Cost: $20 standard, $15 concession Open day Mark your diaries for our Dharma open day. Free yoga classes , lectures, etc. 8:30 - 12noon Saturday 15 September. Price increase As of the 16th July yoga classes at Dharma will increase by $1.
