Benefits of Yoga poses, Breathing exercises, Relaxation & Meditation - The theory and practice of yoga has continued to be handed down via an unbroken oral tradition to this day. The aim of a yoga practice is to refine the Neural activity of the brain whereby thoughts feelings and perception is refined to the point that our awareness of the expanded universe is made accessible beyond the average human personality.
Clear and specific guidelines were created and handed down to make sure that there can be no confusion in the practice. As with all ancient teaching distortion are common due to misinterpretation, that is why a sincere seeker must seek guidance from a living master of the methodology that they are aiming to attained.
In Yoga specific practices such Yoga poses, Breathing exercises, Relaxation and Meditation are used to clear impurities from the body and the mind, once balance is restored it is easier for the conscious mind to connect to the superconscious intelligence within. As self realization is the aim of yoga without these essential practices yoga becomes nothing more than physical exercise.
I am often asked what type of yoga I teach and my response always is that there is only one yoga. The confusion has come about due to the misinterpreting of yoga by the media and teachers in the last 60 years+ who have not given their students the correct interpretation of the purpose of yoga and its origin. If the teacher is connected to a living tradition then there will be no misunderstanding.
A practitioner of Yoga may benefit from the physical exercise which are taught in yoga centers but if they were to review their practice they will find that the mind cannot be mastered purely via yoga posters alone, mind yoga must take priority over the physical practice. The physical practice was designed to train a distracted mind and in the last decades it has become more of a physical trend and business oriented rather that a spiritual practice as it was intended.
One of my teachers once said trends come and go but a sincere practitioner never loose sight of their original objective "Self realization". Enjoy the journey as we are born with and amazing mind which has unlimited potential, so let make this life truly enlightening by accessing the minds full potential and don't forget to keep smiling!. Price structure Prices for classes are structured to accommodate students from casual, one class a week, two classes a week and unlimited month pass.
Yoga is based on the teaching of enlightened beings who imparted their knowledge for all sincere seekers of truth and realisation. Their teaching are clearly recorded in the book of knowledge which is called the "Veda". In the Sunday classes we will review the teachings from the Veda. Guided meditation will also be incorporated.
